Absolutely Warm and Beautiful Reception, Hosts and Clean Homely Rooms...We'll Be Back!!!

Both Mr. Leo and Mrs Milagro were just wonderful to us. Mr. Leo is a true historian with a lot of pride an love for his beloved Havana. He gave us a beautifully made and very valuable map of the city with landmarks and highlight. It was our bible and compass. The house itself is so rich in history that it is well documented in a book. Mrs. Milagro is a true host, so gracious, loving and kind. They literally opened up their home to us, their casa was literally our casa!!
"They remembered my birthday and surprised me with a delicious cake with a song on the morning of."
They were available literally at all times. The casa is literally steps away from museums, famous hotels like where Ernest Hemingway used to stay and the local bars like the birthplace of the Mojito, a cigar and rum store and within walking distance to most everything else including the cathedral and the famous parque central that has all the classic cars. We did not need a taxi at all.

Meine Gruppe (3 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder - 2 und 1 Jahr) und ich waren im Januar 2019 zu Gast bei Leo und Milagros. Die Gastfreundschaft, die uns die beiden von der ersten Minuten an entgegengebracht haben (und wir kamen nachts um 1:15 an!) war traumhaft. Da wir Selbstfahrer waren und die Kinder schon sehr müde waren, half Leo uns nicht nur mit unserem Gepäck, er zeigte mir auch einen sicheren, bewachten Parkplatz in Laufweite, sodass wir uns um unser Auto den ganzen Aufenthalt über keine Sorgen machen mussten. Das Frühstück wurde jeden Morgen frisch für uns zubereitet und während unserer Tagesausflüge wurden unsere Zimmer gemacht. Wir haben auch den Wäscheservice in Anspruch genommen und haben unsere Wäsche super sauber zurück bekommen. Wir waren in den beiden Zimmern mit Verbindungstür und Dachterrasse untergebracht, was sich für unsere Kinder als toller und vor allem sicherer Platz zum Spielen und toben herausstellte. Unsere Buggys durften wir im Wohn-/Aufenthaltsraum deponieren, sodass diese keinen Platz auf unserem Zimmer weggenommen haben und wir sie auch nicht jedes Mal bis ganz nach oben tragen mussten.
"Leo half uns auch, als wir mit unserer Tochter fieber-bedingt ins Krankenhaus fahren mussten. Er lotste uns sicher durch die Stadt zu einer tollen internationalen Klinik in der er außerdem noch als Übersetzer agierte."
Die Lage auf der Calle Obispo ist einfach traumhaft und die gesamte Innenstadt lässt sich fußläufig erkunden. Selbstverständlich ist die Straße sehr lebhaft, was wir allerdings nie als störend empfunden haben. So hatten wir trotz der Kinder das Gefühl, abends noch etwas zu unternehmen, indem wir einfach auf der Dachterrasse saßen und der Musik der umliegenden Bars zugehört haben.
Wonderful Casa, Great Hosts

I traveled with my mother and sister and we stayed at Casa Obispo 307 on our last day in Havana. Leo and Milagro, the hosts of this lovely casa, were so helpful and nice people. We arrived earlier than our checkin time so we had a chance to talk a little bit. Me and my sister would go out and requested them to help my mother to show the room when it was ready. They said that ‘your mother is our mother and don’t worry’. They were so kind and very cheerful people. They just not showed the room to my mom, they also carried all the heavy luggages to upstairs.
"When we returned with my sister, they also asked if we wanted to eat anything. They wanted to be sure about our flight time for the following day and asked if we needed any help. Even we had to leave very early in the morning (at around 6 AM) they also get up early and they were waiting for us to help to carry our luggages."
Our room was quite big and so clean. The only negative side was there were too many steps and it was a little bit difficult for my mother. If you don’t have any knee problem, stairs are not problem. We liked our room and the house very much. Also it is in the center of Havana, so very close to everywhere. I recomment it for everyone. Thank you very much for everything Leo and Milagro. If I visit Cuba again, I will definitely stay at your home :) Love from Istanbul.

We arrived at the Casa after midnight yet our host was waiting and directed us into the right door from the balcony. Leo and Milagro, the couple keeping the place, were amazingly committed to taking care of us and provided highly useful insider information during our 5-day stay in Havana. For instance, they helped us book tickets to Buenavista social club's concert, gave many helpful contacts, recommended restaurants and places to see, and arranged a taxi collective for our transfer to Varadero. We enjoyed daily breakfast and lunch and dinner at the Casa were better than in most nearby restaurants. We stayed at the Habana room since we thought the Obispo street (one of the busiest streets at the old town) would be noisy at nights, which was not the case in contrast to its daytime liveliness.

We will certainly consider returning to the Casa on our future visit to Havana, and recommend it for other travellers.

Nous recommandons cette casa à 100%. Si nous avions à retourner à la Havane, nous retournerions assurément là . Les hôtes, Leo et Milagro, sont accueillants, sympathiques et très serviables. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir avec eux. Il faut prendre les déjeuners de Milagro pour 5 cuc. Vous ne trouverez pas mieux à ce prix. Les chambres sont grandes et très propres. Le ménage y est fait tous les jours. Les aires communes sont conviviales et très charmantes. Le balcon permet de voir de haut l'action de la rue. Si vous pouvez, prenez la chambre avec balcon. Une immense terrasse vous permettra de vous y reposer. Très bien centrée, de jour on entend le rythme de la Havane, mais la nuit c'est très tranquille.

We stayed for three nights whilst in Havana and it was by far the best casa we stayed at whilst in Cuba. The house is so spacious that you don’t feel like you are in someone’s home, whilst it’s also homely and comfy feeling as well.

This casa is located on historic Calle Obispo in Old Havana. The street is closed to cars, so it’s great for walking and people watching. Lots of stores and restaurants to choose from and area feels very safe. I walked around alone at night and never felt threatened (this was true of every city I visited in Cuba).

The house is located at the top of a long flight of stairs. It features a really lovely living room, and a porch that faces onto the street below. I enjoyed standing on the porch in the mornings watching the locals go about their day. I booked the non-balcony room and it was decent. Very clean with high ceilings, comfortable bed and beautiful antique furniture. En-suite bathroom was clean. I will definitely stay here again, as long as Milagro and Leo continue to host. I’ll be sure to get a balcony room the next time. I highly recommend the day trip to Viñales, which Leo can arrange for you. Tip: Have your taxi drop you at the corner of Havana and Obispo, which is the closest corner to the hotel.

A friend and I stayed for a couple of nights in Casa Obispo 307! Leo was a fantastic host taking us on a tour of the town and informing us on the best spots in town! The room was beautifully decorated, clean and tidy! We had a balcony room which was nice and quiet all day/night.

I highly recommend staying at Casa Obispo for an authentic Cuban experience, beautiful, safe well located accommodations and the best host in the entire island nation. Before I traveled to Cuba I spoke to Leo (host) over the phone several times and he was very patient and excellent at making recommendations. He put me at ease before traveling there. He suggested I’d take a taxi from the airport rather than having him pick me up since it was cheaper for me that way. The taxis are plenty, safe and they all charge the same fee. Check-in was quick and easy despite the fact that we arrived earlier. Leo was quick to prepare an itinerary for us (my girlfriend and I) and made suggestions regarding sites to visit, restaurants, shops, etc. The house is located on Obispo street where cars are not allowed (it’s a pedestrian walkway), but cars can drop you off a few feet (meters) from it. The rooms are in the second and third floor and have very high, beautiful ceilings. There are no elevators, if that is a concern of yours (handicapped?). It is in a prime location basically 8-10 mins away from tourist sites (capitolio, floridita, la bodeguita, museums, shops, restaurants, etc) The house and Rooms are clean, well maintained, spacious with plenty a room for your luggage and otherwise. The bathroom is also spacious, works really well and the showers have hot/cold water and good water pressure.

During our visit we was basically our host, cook (breakfast), driver (took us to less visited, off the beaten-path areas of Havana, to Varadero, Viñales, and other areas around the city). He also made recommendations for us regarding Restaurants, shops, live music shows, very affordable Cuban cigars and more."
I am happy to say that thanks to Leo our stay and visit to Cuba was fun, safe and full of very fond memories. I highly recommend staying at Casa Obispo and making your travel arrangements with Leo. You won’t regret it!!

If you don't want to stay in the normal hotel, Casa Obispo 307 will be the best casa choice for you in Havana. The decoration is exactly what you see in the photos. Clean, simple and elegant with colonial furnish. So in love with that green color in the living.

Host Leo speaks good English and friendly who will take you as his family, explain everything in details and clear, tell you what to do, what to see, and where to eat, then most important what we should pay attention in the city. We were 6 people, so we took 2 balcony connect rooms at 3rd floor, and 2 non-balcony room at 2nd floor. If you want to away from Havana heat, take non-balcony room would be nice. Also backpack is suggested to climb up the narrow stairs.

We had the best time at Casa Obispo 307. Myself and my friend were very impressed with the architecture of the building, the high ceilings, decorative floors, furniture and lighting. The whole house reflects the spirit of Havana, it feels authentic and friendly from the moment one steps in. Being two girls traveling alone, we were extra cautious when choosing our place to stay and we couldn't have made a better choice.

Leo put a smile on our faces always and organised all the taxi rides, extra supplies we needed and made us feel safe at the property. The breakfast was great and the rooms and communal spaces were all very clean. We would recommend this place for sure! Don't miss it if you are in Havana!

Wir haben bereits im Vorfeld unserer Kuba Reise von Deutschland aus ein Zimmer reserviert. Dank dem Buchungssystem der Homepage war dies sehr einfach und unproblematisch. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dieser wunderschön renovierten und sehr sauberen Casa und würden sie jederzeit nochmals buchen und auch jedem empfehlen.

We were there three nights begin April. We booked the two connecting rooms as we were travelling with three young kids. One of the room was not available the first night but as we arrived late in the night it was not a problem.
"Everything was perfect: Leo is very helpful (came to pick us in the street during night when we arrived as the bus dropped us far from the casa), casa is very beautiful and clean, connecting rooms are big and terrace is really nice, breakfast is one of the best we had during two weeks in Cuba."
Location of the casa is perfect for visits, restaurants, bars, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and the kids too (youngest on was 2,5 y.o. and casa was adapted, no problem).

My husband and I just stayed at Casa 307 in Havana for three nights and it was amazing! Being our first time in Cuba, we weren't sure if we should stay at a "casa" over a hotel (for the record we are hotel people!), but am glad we made the right decision to stay at Casa 307. The location could not be more central, it is located directly on one of the most happening streets with food, music, shops, etc. and was an easy walk to all the major spots in Old Havana.

The casa is very clean and newly renovated with a very peaceful and calmly atmosphere. In each room is a mini fridge with bottled water and beers! A/C worked great too! Our host Leo was so much fun and overly accommodating with making reservations, transportation and anything we needed. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and a great value. You go to Cuba to experience culture and "Support the Cuban People" and staying at a casa is doing exactly that! We will be back and we will definitely stay again at Casa 307! Thank you so much Leo!!! *One quick note; Leo is such an incredible host he waited up all night waiting for guests who decided not to show without letting him know they were canceling. Thats how much he cares for his guests! If you do book & cancel, be respectful and send a message beforehand. These are real people who care, not an impersonal mass hotel chain.

Leo and Milagro are just amazing hosts that can go the extra mile for you. You cannot go without tasting the local cuban cuisine in casa Obispo 307! Milagro is amazing cook by the way. Leo can inform you and guide you through havana vieja, places to go, where to eat and more. A lovely couple. The place is clean, rooms are beautiful, better condition than any hotel in havana! with a balcony looking to obispo street, well located, so close to everything you want to see in havana Vieja, (mojitos in la bodeguita - 2 minutes walk, daiquiris in la floridita 5-8 minutes walk).

I stayed in several casas throughout my travels in Cuba and Casa Obispo 307 is head and shoulders above the rest, more like a small, 5-star boutique hotel. Situated in an Old Havana building, it occupies space restored to its former glory, and is well-located to see most of the area on foot. It's less than ten minutes walk to the famous Malecon! If you're feeling a bit tired or want to venture further out, you can always find a car or bici-taxi right around the corner. Every room in the casa is bright and airy. The water pressure in the bathrooms is top-notch, unlike most of the other casa and restaurant bathrooms I experienced. The rain shower is so refreshing as is the air-conditioning, both a welcome respite after hours spent exploring the city. Standing on the balcony watching life on Obispo street below is always entertaining.
"What seals the deal, though, are the hosts, Leo and Milagro. They are two of the most friendly, charming and helpful people you could hope to meet."
They go out of their way to answer any questions and make recommendations or offer advice. It's clear that enjoying your stay is very important to them. Milagro's breakfasts are perfect and her coffee is the best! Leo twice gave me a lift to the Viazul bus station in his Russian car, the Esperanza Verde :wink: I left Cuba a week ago and I am already thinking about going back, and Casa Obispo 307 is where I'll stay. Ficamos 7 dias na Casa Obispo e logo nos primeiros minutos de hospedagem já nos sentimos em casa e cercados de bons amigos. Leo e Milagro são muito atenciosos, prepararam um delicioso drink para brindarmos o meu aniversário e providenciaram uma reserva em um ótimo restaurante para continuarmos a comemoração mais tarde.

I was very impressed by the online booking system on the Casa's website which offers instant availability, booking and payment which is a rarity in Havana! The Casa was in an excellent position on a busy main pedestrianised street but noise was never an issue at night for us. All of the rooms in the casa are recently refurbished and it has been beautifully done whilst enhancing the original features. We were fortunate enough to book a balcony room and had a room on the upper floor which had a great outside space where we stayed for two nights. The air con was excellent and we appreciated the in room safety deposit box. For anyone with mobility issues, the upper rooms may not be suitable as there are narrow steep steps leading up to the rooms.

The Real 5 Star Casa In Havana

During our stay in Cuba, we stayed in a 3-star hotel in SouthBeach Miami, 5-star resort in Varadero and in Casa Obispo. This last one is definitely the real 5 star we experienced so far. Sited in Calle Obispo, the heart of Havana Vieja, the position is strategic, surrounded by restaurants, tourist attractions, and real Cubans. Basically, all you need during your stay.
"The Casa is stunningly beautiful, extremely clean - I am a cleanliness OCD - and the hosts are incredibly kind. Leo and Milagro warmly welcomed in their house in a genuine way, going beyond any expectations, trying to help us out in each and every need of ours."
Leo arranged transports and tips for every night we stayed. Milagro, provided us with amazing breakfast every morning, with fresh products - omelet, freshly cut fruits and fruit juices prepared at the moment and in front of us. Although Calle Obispo is full of life from early morning to late night, however, rooms are surprisingly silent. We highly recommend this Casa and we will definitely come back soon.

Casa Obispo looks as charming as the photos. Went with 2 friends, one of which had previously stayed there. As of now, there are 4 rooms. Location is great, in that, you are in the middle of everything.

We stayed here for 3 of our 4 nights in Havana (we'd have stayed for our final night too if they were not booked out already) in the Obispo room, which is off the main living area and opens onto the balcony. It is a perfeect location overlooking Calle Obispo. Leo and Milagro are wonderful hosts, caring, considerate and ready to help you organise your time in Havana. The place is spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and the linen crisp white cotton. There is a beer fridge and bottled water that you can help yourself too and Milagro also provides boiled filtered water for guests which is a nice touch when its hot. Ensuite bathroom functions well. Take your own shampoo etc as its not readily available in Cuba. There is a bit of street noise, but after a day walking around Havana and a few cuba libres it won't keep you awake.
"If you are going straight here from the airport make sure to print out and hand the directions that they email to you to your taxi driver and he will park around the corner and show you where the doorway is. There is a communal flight of stairs up from the street which looks a bit grimy and unwelcoming, at the top of the stairs is a doorway where you usually see a family sitting watching TV. Go hard around to the right and you'll see a gate way with a stone tile floor and this is the entrance to Casa Obispo. Its a bright airy haven of peace - it looks just like the photos."
To book - do a web search on the Casa's name and you will find their site easily. Mark in Canada manages the booking process and is very prompt to respond. We paid $50USD per night and it was great value. Breakfast is 5CUC per person pay directly to Milagro when you leave. One thing to note - the owners of the casa's have to keep a record of who has stayed their to give to the government. Milagro will ask for your passport so she can take down your information. It always feels dodgy handing over your passport to someone, but its all fine, and you get it straight back :). Heartily recommend this casa. Its the perfect place to stay in Havana. Leo and Milagro are lovely and went out of their way to help us. Leo even walked us to our next casa (and carried my bag!) to make sure that we found it OK. The other casa we stayed in was fine for a night, but wasn't as nice as Casa Obispo.

We stayed in Leo's and Milagro's casa for ten days. We can highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay right in the middle of the old town of Havana. Our room was large, very clean and had a nice terrace overlooking Calle Obispo. Our hosts very very friendly and extremely helpful in all situations. Milagro is a fantastic cook and prepared wonderful breakfast for us. We also had dinner at the casa once - it was the best one we had during our stay in Cuba!

We arrived at La Havana for 4 nights, without knowing a thing and scared of what we would find. After a long trip, an overpaid taxi (37€, real prices are 25/30CUC), and a shifty staircase to the appartement, we were welcomed by the wonderful smiles of Milagro and Leo. They are full of great tips (restaurants, bars, site visits, taxi collectivos, casa particulars ...) and happy to help.
"The casa is beautiful, fully equipped and clean. Leo restored it completely 6 months ago into a stylish colonial house. It is right on "calle Obispo", the most touristic street of Havana Vieja, and very central."
Because it was full, we only spent 2 nights at the house, but came back every single day to see them. Book early (very easy on their website) because they are becoming the place to be. Leo's motto : "Mi casa es su casa" and it was like being at home.

I stayed with my mom, sister and three kids in the welcoming home of Leo and Milagro for a couple of nights mid-november. The casa is newly renovated and beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food and drinks amazing and located in the heart of everything. I would highly recommend this casa to families - they love kids and the two upstairs rooms have a connecting door that can make it in to one big suite. The rooms are also far enough away to not disturb other guests downstairs (as mentioned in other posts, there is a steep staircase but my 4 year old navigated it fine). Leo, a former tour guide, and Milagro, a former dance instructor, know everything about the city and have a lot of contacts. Whatever question you have, they will have an answer for or know someone who will! They accommodated all of our needs including arriving 3 hours early and letting us leave our bags there until the rooms were ready (which was a big deal when dragging around 3 tired kids through the streets of Havana).
"One of the first things Leo said to us was 'when you stay in my home, you are part of my family. If anyone messes with you, they mess with me."
They recommended a great restaurant that ended up being one of our best meals in Cuba (besides the meal that Milagro cooked of course). My son brought along a soccer ball to play with but we could not find a pump anywhere to inflate it, when we told Leo he said "no problem!" and came back to the house minutes later with the ball inflated and ready to go. I wish I could have stayed there much longer. Don't even bother with the resorts in Varadero - go to Havana and stay with Leo and Milagro.In the near future this casa will be in the top 10 of places to stay!

We stayed at Casa Obispo 307 for 4 nights and our experience was delightful. The hosts, Leo and Milagro, welcome you into their home and make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The casa has been renovated and is immaculately maintained. We had a non-balcony room which was more than comfortable (and air conditioned!) but will definitely try to arrange for a balcony the next trip - they just didn't have one available at the time of booking. They provide any services you would find at a traditional hotel but you get the warmth and pleasure of visiting with your hosts as if you are a family member.
"We learned a great deal about the country and life in Havana from our hosts. There were a few afternoons we briefly returned for a midday break and enjoyed a nice rum and a chat. Leo gave us some excellent suggestions for restaurants and was very helpful arranging transportation/giving advice. The meals prepared by Milagro in the casa were delicious and the morning coffees were just sublime."
Havana itself is a very safe city and we had many wonderful interactions with its residents. Staying at Casa Obispo 307 is the best thing you can do to ensure an amazing trip to Havana!

First impressions are lasting. When my son and I arrived, we were treated like long lost family. Hosts Leo and Milagro catered to our every need, which included a map of the city, places we should go, restaurants nearby, where to get currency exchanged, wi-fi locations and more.

Milagro is a superb chef and we enjoyed her Cuban Lobster dinner as well as her wonderfully delicious breakfast. Milagro makes the most delicious cocktails as well. There is a menu and you have the option of eating in or eating out. The rooms have air-conditioning; the beds are so nice and firm. Sitting on the balcony of Obispo watching people go by is surreal. If you want to visit other areas of Cuba they can give you the best recommendation of places to stay and people to meet. They can even tell you what a cab will cost and will organize for your pick up, if leaving the Casa for any reason. We never felt alone because they were there for us and even gave their cell number in case we got lost or needed more information. I could go on and on, but talking about them makes me feel home sick, so I will stop here. This was my first trip to Cuba and I intend to return. You're absolutely in good hands at Casa Obispo 307. Milagro and Leo took us into their family and took wonderful care of us for a few days. My two grown kids and I rented the two rooms on the top floor. The rooms were spacious and clean and the terrace was a wonderful place to spend some quiet time. Breakfast was excellent.
"They helped us get to know Havana, and made arrangements for us to get around, and also arranged an amazing day trip for us to Vinales, including a horseback ride, a visit to a coffee plantation and a tobacco plantation ... much much more than we had imagined."
Our visit to Cuba was wonderful, and we owe it to Leo and Milagro.

Super séjour à La Havane Vieja où Leo et Milagro nous ont très bien bien reçus.
"Chambre propre avec chacun ses sanitaires (douche, lavabo et wc) très propres également et un accueil très chaleureux avec de précieux conseils."
Bref que du positif, attention tout de même aux escaliers pour les personnes à mobilité réduite (mais je pense que c'est dans de nombreuses casas de la vieille Havane).

Located on car-free Obispo Street, practically everything in Old Havana is within easy walking distance. The casa is a fresh, airy refuge from the hot, dusty streets and the fridges are always stocked with water, refrescos and beer.
"My room could not have been more comfortable; the bed, sheets and pillows are excellent quality, which is rare in Cuba. The shower is also top notch."
The owners, Leo & Milagro, are warm, friendly, welcoming and professional. They were so helpful with everything I needed (reserving collective taxis, communicating with other casas) and made me feel like a part of their family. It was so lovely to stay with such genuine, caring and thoughtful people. Both Leo and Milagro really understand how to anticipate people's needs and provide a high level of true hospitality - this is why they are going to be very successful! Milagro is an amazing cook and goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. She prepared a fantastic Cuban dinner and her breakfasts were huge and delicious with the best coffee in all of Cuba. Leo introduced me to my new favourite drink: canchánchara - ask him to mix one for you! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Casa Obispo! Everything was over-the-top perfect!

This casa is located in the very centre of the old city of Havana, in a safe street, and all main attractions of Havana are near by.

My friend and I stayed at Casa Obispo in May/June after my brother stayed in March and recommended it to us. I have to say this was the best decision ever! Leo & Milagro, the two host, make you really feel at home, like you are part of their family, they are very lovely an friendly people, always food of advices and available to tell you stories about Cuba's culture and traditions.
"We really felt at home! The first night we arrived they invited us to spend to go with them to a salsa night and it was just amazing! The food they cooked for us was great and in big portions!Another strong points are: the bedrooms and the house itself and the location!Bedrooms are brand new and full of any comforts (from strongbox to air conditioning)."
The living room is big with his warming colours and that authentic colonial style makes the entrance in the house very welcoming and cozy! Finally the location is just perfect, we couldn't ask for a better one: it's in calle Obispo, very central to the old city, the nightlife and restaurants, plus at night is really safe and quiet.

We initially booked only the first night of our stay in Havana at Casa Obispo 307 just to check it out and we ended up staying here throughout our trip. We got along very well with Leo and Milagro, they are truly amazing people and hosts, extremely helpful when it comes to directions, recommendations or making reservations. We found the rooms better than they look in the photos, very clean, with everything working perfectly. The house has been recently renovated with very good taste.
"The breakfasts are great for the value and I really recommend trying Milagro's camarones (shrimps) for dinner - simply delicious. They even got my girlfriend a birthday cake."

We stayed with Leonardo and Milagro for 14 nights and enjoyed every moment. The Casa was spotless and Milagro cooked a beautiful breakfast that lasted us the rest of the day. They are the perfect hosts who enjoy what they do. We really felt part of their family with their beautiful daughter Brianna. Whenever we went shopping, Leo would advise on prices we could expect to pay and on one occasion took us to the market for us to buy local produce.
